Baby Alpaca wool is one of the softest available and does not sting. The wool comes from the belly of Alpaca animals where it is the softest. Average fiber thickness is 12 + micron. The animals live up to 3,800 m. height above sea level in the Andes in Peru where there is a lot of frost in winter. they have therefore developed a warm and thick coat. This precious wool does not contain wool fat (Lanolin), the fibers of the wool are very durable, only absorb water and weigh little.
Merino wool is a natural wool product. It comes from merino sheep. Compared to regular wool, merino wool is softer and thinner. The average fiber thickness is 17-24 microns, i.e. 0.02 mm. Merino wool is thermoregulating, warm when wet and absorbent does not absorb the smell of sweat.
Baby Alpakka Merino is suitable for example. in sweaters, vests, blankets, etc. Is for both knitting needles and crochet hooks. The yarn comes in about 250 gr. hespum and therefore needs to be wound up. When we say sirka, it means that the yarn could be slightly under or over 250 gr. A maximum of 4% deviation. It is good to use a yarn winder and a horse tree to wind up the yarn before starting. You can also wind up by hand by placing the hespin on the back of a chair or get an assistant to hold it while it is wound.

Remember to set a wool program and use detergent for wool. Drying, it is necessary to lay on a horizontal surface for drying. If the floor is hot, it is ideal to lay the garment on the floor on a clean towel or on a washing rack. Never hang newly washed woolen garments on cords with clips.
Why is our yarn not a specific brand?
The yarn comes from the land of design and high fashion, Italy itself. The yarn comes from clothing manufacturers who have ordered excess yarn for certain product lines. This is often done in order to be sure to have material for upcoming orders.
This is therefore a yarn that is of a higher quality than is usually available on the general market, as the well-known fashion houses and brands make high demands on materials. Here you have the opportunity to buy the best at a favorable price.
By shopping Baby Alpaca Merino you are saving yarn from being wasted.
